End in Mind Project
I’ve done a lot of things in my career, but one of the most fulfilling was founding the non-profit called the End in Mind Project. It was born from deeply personal, on-air conversations I had with Bruce Kramer, a man who was diagnosed with ALS.
Trust me, I wasn’t sure I wanted to talk to someone with a terminal illness during my morning radio show. I wasn’t convinced it was “newsworthy” but I quickly learned it didn’t have to be. Bruce was eloquent in telling the most human of all stories: what it’s like to live with death waiting nearby. We don’t want to think about it, but our time on Earth is very short and it can end at any time. After his death, I launched End in Mind, which helps people get comfortable with their future demise while also encouraging them to live with purpose and meaning until they die.
End in Mind uses live community events that feature music, storytelling and conversation in our work and through on-line tools and resources including podcasts. Want more information?
