Bio

Cathy Wurzer is one of Minnesota’s most respected broadcast journalists with a career that includes commercial and public radio and TV and now, the digital content as a podcast host.

Wurzer, who is a member of the Minnesota Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame, has been the long-time host of Morning Edition on Minnesota Public Radio‘s statewide network of stations.

As a multiple Emmy Award winner, Cathy is also the co-host of Almanac, the longest running public affairs television show of its kind in the country from Twin Cities PBS.

Wurzer has been an anchor and reporter at WCCO-TV and WCCO radio in the Twin Cities. She started her career as a political reporter for KSTP-AM radio.

She is also a documentary filmmaker and the author of two award winning books, Tales of the Road: Highway 61. about the sites and secrets of an iconic US highway, and We Know How This Ends: Living Well While Dying, co-written with Dr. Bruce Kramer, an educator and musician who recognized that living a meaningful life with ALS meant embracing his imminent death.

Her work with Bruce Kramer led to Wurzer founding a non-profit, the End in Mind Project, which equips people with information and tools to help them find a level of comfort with death, so they can live fully until the end.
